NYWA ANNUAL STAR BREAKFAST SCHEDULED FOR DECEMBER 5
New York – The New York Women’s Agenda (NYWA) will hold their fifteenth annual Star Breakfast, on Tuesday, December 5, 2006. At this gala event which attracts over 1500 attendees, NYWA honors women who provide leadership in business and in the community. This year’s selected honorees are as follows:
- Kimberly Bishop, Managing Director, Korn/Ferry International
- Joannie Danielides, President and Founder, Danielides Communications, Inc.
- Cynthia Park, Managing Director, Kang & Lee Advertising (A Young & Rubicam Brands/WPP Group Company)
- Sharon L. Patrick, Sharon Patrick Company (Formerly Chief Executive of Martha Stewart Living)
- Nadine Shelby Schramm, President and CEO, Budd Enterprises, Ltd./Budd Leasing, Ltd.
RISING STARS
- Nora Plesent, Esq., Founder, Lexolution
- Racquel Oden, Executive Director, UNS Financial Services, Inc.
In addition to the Star Awards, Honorable “Men-tions” are awarded to men who give support to women and the issues which affect them. The 2006 recipient is Joseph Benincasa, Executive Director, The Actors Fund of America.
The event will be hosted by Roz Abrams, Anchor, WCBS News, Rosanna Scotto, Anchor, Fox 5 News and Donna Hanover, Co-Host, Morning Show, WOR Radio 710. Special Guests: Christine Quinn, Speaker, New York City Council and Silda Wall Spitzer.
The Elly Grants, named after NYWA’s founder Elinor Guggenheimer, are also announced at the Star Breakfast. These grants are awarded to member organizations that support projects that promote the economic equality and social welfare of women and girls in New York City.
The New York Women’s Agenda (NYWA), founded in 1992, is an association of nearly one hundred different women’s organizations. NYWA represents professional, educational, economic, and community interests. In 2006, nearly 100,000 women who belong to these various organizations find their voices to be stronger due to their association with NYWA.
The Star Breakfast will be held on December 5, 2006, 7:30-9:30 a.m. at the New York Hilton Hotel and Towers located at 53rd Street, Manhattan.
