What options are available if you're employed and employer does not offer health insurance?

1. Many insurers offer individual plans for single persons or families. Contact the New York State Department of Insurance for lists companies selling individual plans.

2. Since January 2001, New York State has offered a new plan for uninsured New Yorkers called Healthy New York.

It is designed to help New Yorkers working in smaller firms which do not offer health insurance to their employees.

Review the Healthy New York to determine if you qualify.
